Building A Bridge

In my school the 8th grade Algebra students are building a bridge. The students may only use pipe cleaners, Popsicle sticks, hot glue guns, regular Elmer's glue, endless tape and what ever else we bring will be put off from our budget. Our budget was of 1.5 million dollars. If you are wondering what a budget is, it is the amount of money given to someone so that they can spend it on what ever they are to do. For example the money given was our budget of 1.5 million dollars.

I'm working with three other people Brianna Butler,Stephanie Ventura and Gregory Edmond. They are classmates from my Algebra class. We designed our own bridge. Including a Gregory had built a small model of it but we were never able to see it because he had gone to a trip. So know that he came back we are doing the final touches to the bridge.

When it is time our teacher Mr. Castiglione will put weight on the bridges and see whether wich one can hold the most. Including which one is the lightest.

Middle School Experience

I started my middle school at Foshay Learning Center but then I went to Richard Merkin Middle School. So there I started sixth grade but I was two weeks late. It was hard for me at first to get to my classes. When I got to the school for the first time I went into the High School building and so I was lost. But the good thing was that people from my Elementary School were there. Meeting friends at first wasn't hard as I has expected. I'd be around my Elementary friends. Including there was a girl who cried the first days. I started talking to her, and from there with knowing her I was able to meet the rest of my friends. Eventhough we had our discussions through out that year we still talk to each other. We are now in the 8th grade and have new friends but still talk to each other. My personality has grown a little more. I have been able to communicate easily with people. I have been able to listen more to others. Including to know whether who and who not to trust. Ever since I started middle school I have become more different in a way with my friends. When I can we would go out somewhere with them and not be scared. But I also have a feeling I have become a bit more responsible. Including been able to manage my time more. My grades have always been good. They never go down from a B. So it's always from an A to a B. and at the end of the year they are all A's. So I always do my best on reports and projects. Including my view in uniforms has changed. In Richard Merkin Middle School we wear uniforms. Now I don't think it is bad to have uniforms. You don't have to worry to wash clothes all the time, and you save money. Even though other people views are the same my views in things have changed. Well I haven't had gone out with any boys in the school. Yes I have liked people but not many. All I think about is what I'm responsible in at school and in my education. Through out the three years I have been in Richard Merkin Middle School my class mates change. Some of us grow more mature others not really. You are able to have relationship with you teachers. But also we or probably just me have been able to rely on my teachers. Like in schools there is always drama. But the drama is not that dramatic in other schools. There our teachers care for us. They want their students to acheive and have a future. Including they ways for students to receive the help they need. But one has to talk. Also in it, I have been able to speak out for myself. Not be ashamed to speak or comment. So being in middle school helps you develop yourself.

CST Testing

CST is the short way to say California Standards Test. This test reflects on what your teachers have taught you and what you have learned through out the school year, and for that grade. It is usually took around the end of the year because by then you have learned everything you will need for the test. Most schools give the test around May so that the last months the students can go preparing for the next year.
Usually each year it has the basics you will need. The basics are english and math. but me as an Eighth grader and the other students took math, history, science and english. They were not that very hard. They just needed to be read carefully and think about it. Like some of the strategies to use are the answers they given in the answers. Pick the ones that are more reasonable. Including there are other questions that relate to that topic and give you most of the answer.
Those are the strategies I used for the testing in the CST. These strategies helped a lot. But they were not difficult. From a scale of 1-10. I would give them all about a 5. A 5 because in each one there were a few questions that were hard. So using the strategies helps you a lot. But one that was sort of uneasy was the history. The history because it has all three topics. Which were the ones we talked about during 6th, 7th and 8th grade. But since our teacher gave us a packet from all last two years then it refreshed our mind.
Your results come during the middle summer. They are not surprising because you already know that you will do great. As for me I know that at least I will get a basic. Rather receive a basic. But probably a proficient. I know I have done well, listened in class and reviewed my work.Receiving your scores helps you know that you have done well. So know I wait until the summer for my results.

Restrictions On Life How to Dealt

Restrictions on The Franks and the Van Dans:
What they both have restricted in the annex is that they can't do very much because something may happen to them and the people who are hiding them. What they are doing is supposedly wrong but they are doing it so that they won't die because they are Jewish.
The restrictions that they have are that they may not do anything for 10 hours. For example they can not use the restrooms, wash their hands, throw trash anywhere, have shoes so that they may not make sounds. Basically, not do anything that consists of making a prediction that there is someone in the attic. That is because if they make a noise or the wood makes a creeky sound then they would be caught and they will die. So they had to be very careful on what they did. But also it be risky for the people who hid them. It would be a major problem that may cause them there death if caught.
The main restrictions that I have is that I can't do what I want in anytime . I do things and my mom knows about it. I tell her everything is it because I'm used to it. Not really I like telling her things. I really have nothing restricted. I may do as I want but always consult it with her if it is right or wrong.
The way I would react if I were told that me and my family had to go into hiding I would be surprised and scared. That would be really scary knowing that I couldn't do a thing because I would die or something else.
I wonder if I'd stand it. I know that my family would go moody. But the good thing is that it is three of us. Me my mom and sister

Anne Frank Stage Adaptation

Stage Adaptation: A certain event, movie, real life experiences that can be adapted or remade in a different way so that people can perform it so the actors and the audience can have a viduallity of what happened in that event or movie or experience.

On Scene 1 of The Diary Of Anne Frank starts on the year of 1945 because since everything has already happened and Mr.Frank is going back to where his family and friends hid and it is basically a memory for him. But also because he finds the diary of his daughter and he reads it so then its starts off of when she actually started to go into hide and when she received the diary from her father.

Scene #1 is about how Anne Franks dad Mr.Otto Frank goes back into the (annex)attic where they hid for the three years, and wants to see if he can recover something. But also shows the emotions that her dad has when he gets there. Including that he finds the diary of his daughter. He is not by himself but is accompanied by Miep. Miep is the wife of the business owner who helped Mr. Frank and the Van Dans to hide.
He finds the place destroyed because the green police a.k.a. the Police(Natzies) destroyed everything there. Seats, tables and everything is turned over because they pushed and threw everyhting every where. He tries to not remember that is family is dead but at the end he breaks crying because of the memory. So he reads the diary and thats when the whole thing starts.

WHAT IS DRAMA????

People Assume Drama is:
  • When people have issues and problems, or that people exaggerate over things.
But What they Don't Know or Might Is That Drama is About:
  • Theatre and that it is a genre
  • It is made of actors, costumes, setting, light, sounds, set and other things.
  • Shows the life and experiences of others
Basically
  • Drama as a genre where it has actors representing situations that are dramatic of other people or plays.
  • The script may be the most important thing in the play because that's what helps the actor show what dramatic something can be.
  • Costumes show what type of person they are and what place or time period they might be.
  • The set includes the lights and the sound which show or let you hear when the most scariest or dangerous part is coming
  • The dialogue is the most important obviously because it helps you understand what they are talking about and when you listen to them you can hear how dramatic they are; for exmple how they talk by crying, loud, soft or with horror
  • Most of the time you need to know the Historical Context to understand the concept you are looking at and understand why things are happening
  • Also when knowing the history about what you are watching you can have a vidual of what happened
